Jeremy Dean is the Director of Education at Rap Genius where he is facilitating the integration of the company’s “Genius” annotation platform into K-16 classrooms across the country. He received a Ph.D. in English from the University of Texas at Austin. There he worked as a Project Leader in the Digital Writing and Research Lab for four years developing units and lesson plans around a variety of digital tools. Dr. Dean will present on how faculty can incorporate into the classroom Rap Genius’ interactive archive of hip-hop lyrics, as well as literary, historical, legal and scientific texts
